Dance Marathon

January 23rd

We will have dancers dancing all of a twelve-hour day, from 10AM-10PM on Saturday January 23rd in the ENHS Siberian Gym, with each dancer being sponsored for each hour they dance. There will be music playing from all decades with all kinds of different dances and activities to enjoy! We encourage everyone to come to the gym to support these dancers! Every hour there will be a ten minute break. During one of the hours, kids that we will send to camp will come join in on the fun and normally one of the new stations comes to air it. Come experience the fun, and support the cause!

Basketball Clinic

February 20th 8am-4pm

This is going to be a clinic ran by the Edmond North Basketball teams and Coaches for kids from 3rd – 8th grade. There will be two different divisions: 3rd – 5th grade and 6th – 8th grade. Kids will learn ball handling and shooting skills that are sure to improve their games.

Northern Exposure

We will be putting on a talent show called Northern Exposure for students and teachers to participate in. Not only can the participants sing and dance, but they can put on skits or any other talents they would like to share! This will take place in the Edmond North auditorium. We encourage many students and staff members to audition and be as creative and crazy as possible to make Northern Exposure 2010 a raving success!

BALTO 5K Run

February 6th

The BATLO 5K Run is an event held on the morning of January 24th, 2008. The Race will be held at Mitch Park, consisting of a 5K course, and also a Mile Fun Run/Walk. This event has been held and proven to be successful in past years. Information about registration will be available at a later time. BALTO Silent Auction - Dessert Night

We hope you will come be a part of BALTO's Silent Auction - Dessert Night! We will have a huge amount of auction items donated from local businesses ranging from spa packages, paintings, furniture pieces, autographed memorabilia, theater packages, NASCAR memorabilia, Thunder memorabilia, dozens of gift card opportunities, and even a premium ENHS Faculty parking space for the entire 2010-2011 School Year! There will also be bakery items, coffee, a chocolate fountain, and even more so be sure to head out to this revamped event! Tickets are required and will be sold through Student Council, BALTO Candidates, or at the door for $5!

Pom/Cheer Clinic

The BALTO Pom & Cheer Clinic will be an opportunity for girls in grades Kindergarten thru 5th to be temporary cheerleaders and pom girls. The girls will learn a fun dance routine and a cheer and will have a very exciting morning. They will then perform the routine they have learned during halftime of one of North’s Varsity basketball games!! Registration information will come out soon!

This will be a whole day of tournaments! These tournaments will include one of dodgeball, one of volleyball, and one of 3 on 3 basketball. It will cost for teams to enter each tournament. Adults and kids of all ages can enter each tournament, however there will not be different divisions. Be sure to start forming teams early because the winning team will receive a prize (not to mention the ultimate bragging rights for an entire year!)

Parents Night Out

This is a night of babysitting by BALTO Candidates and StuCo members at a church that is also a day care center. It is planned around the valentines so parents can have a special date night while the kids will have something fun to do as well! Snacks will be provided. The cost will be announced at a later date.

Pre-BALTO

Pre-BALTO was designed with the Elementary and Middle School kids in mind. It is the week previous to B.A.L.T.O and we have many events planned depending on what the school is willing to do. At the Elementary Schools we hope to do: T-shirt sales, pom/cheer clinic, a Carnival, and hopefully more! At the Middle Schools we hope to do: T-shirt, candy, pizza and Jamba Juice sales. This year we are hoping to do many more activities than last year to raise more money!

Unplug It

On February 15th there is no school, so we wanted to plan something fun for the kids! Unplug it is a craft and play place on Enterprise St. off of Kelly and north of 33rd. They have agreed to donate a portion of all of their profits to BALTO and they will also raffle ceramics and gift cards for the cause.

Chili Cook-Off

BALTO Carnival (Family Fun Night)

Are you looking for some family fun? Ready to eat enough sweets, cotton candy, and popcorn that you’ll burst? Then step right up and come to Edmond North’s Annual BALTO Carnival night! There will be great inflatables, treats for everyone, BALTO Candidate booths, face painting, arts & crafts, games, and MUCH MUCH more!

Northstock

Northstock is Edmond North’s Battle of the Bands. Its primary purpose is to attract the teenagers around the area in order raise money for BALTO. The production of Northstock consists of about 15 local high school bands competing against each other to earn the title of the “Best Band in Edmond.” Be sure to come and experience the fun of Northstock 2010, and if you are in a local band, auditions for Northstock will be held in the coming months! Judges will rate the bands’ performances and there will also be a people’s choice award given to the band whose money jar raises the largest amount!

Food Nights

February 22nd – 26th Each Night

Each night of BALTO Week there will be a selected food night at different locations around Edmond. Be sure to tell the restaurant staff that you are eating with BALTO, and they will give a chunk of their profits that night to the cause! The food night locations and dates will be determined later and posted right on the website, so keep an eye out!

Opening Assembly/Boy Bands

At the beginning of the assembly, we will introduce people from Victory Junction, the Coffee Creek Riding Center, all the candidates, and tell a little bit about BALTO 2010. The end of the assembly is entirely set-aside for Boy Bands. Boy Bands is a competition between groups of boys from each grade. Each group will consist of 5 boys from each grade who aren’t afraid to dance, stunt, and go crazy in front of the entire school during an assembly. Each group will be taught a dance by two pom and two cheer girls. The dance will consist of dancing, obviously, tumbling, stunting, etc. The more activity the better. The judges will decide who wins. The boys, along with the help from their coaches, will need to decide on a mix of songs and a costume.

7on7 Boys Flag Football

February 22nd starting at 4pm

The girls get to have their powder puff fun, and so now it’s the boys turn! Each team is only allowed to have 3 actual football players to make the teams a little more even and there is absolutely no tackling allowed or the team will be disqualified. The teams will play as many games as possible to make it to the championship, but its single elimination! Its time to bring out the old playbooks and trick plays to see who really deserves the gridiron!

Date Auction Assembly

Last year was the first year we had a “date auction” and it was one of the most successful events of BALTO. People volunteer to be acutioned off to raise money for BALTO, and anyone in the student body or at the assembly can bid on them for REAL money! There will be a pre-planned group date that all the new couples will attend together.

Black Light Dance

There will be a casual, fun dance planned the Tuesday night of BALTO Week. in the ENHS Siberian Gym. There will be a DJ, glowsticks, and a ton of fun, so be sure to come and bring all of your friends! Price of admission will be announced at a later time.

Mr. Husky Assembly

Mr. Husky is an assembly during BALTO week that is sort of like a pageant for boys. Any boy in the school is allowed to enter. The pageant consists of a formal wear competition, swim wear competition, whatever wear competition, and a talent competition. Some ENHS faculty members are the judges and whoever wins over their heart the most is the new Mr. Husky! It is a fun, entertaining assembly that everyone looks forward to each year!

Boy vs. Girls Assembly

The Boy/Girl Assembly will take place during BALTO Week on Wednesday in the Siberian Gym. Boys and Girls will compete to raise money for BALTO by performing outrageous dares and playing contests for cash donations. Start coming up with creative dares for StuCo, the BALTO candidates, teachers, coaches, or anyone else in the audience to perform!

Video Game Night

February 25th 6-9pm

Video Game Night is a BALTO event where we set up a bunch of TV's in the cafeteria at North and have everyone come play video games. We usually have a couple of different tournaments going on, there's food and drinks and everyone just comes and hangs out and has a lot of fun. Its a really good way for different groups of people to get out and be involved in BALTO week, and its always a good time.

Closing Assembly

We will bring out some of the kids we will send to camp to meet everyone and to say thank you! Also, we will announce candidate totals, as well as the princes princesses king and queen! Oh and not to mention we will finally announce the GRAND TOTAL!
